Vermentino di Bolgheri 2004This is 100% Vermentino from vineyards located in Tenuta Belvedere near Bolgheri on the Tuscan coast, South of Livorno. The grapes are harvested early in the morning in order to give good structure and aromas and a small part of the wine was left on the skins for six hours just prior to the alcoholic fermentation to add complexity to the aromatics and structure of the wine. The first vintage of Vermentino from Antinori's Tenuta Gudo al Tasso was in 1996 and quantities produces are still very small and mainly for the Italian market. |
